How to format hard drive on mac to NTFS (MINIX won't read it)

hey guys, just got a new western digital 2tb drive, and I can't get it to work with minix at all. I'm trying to format it on a mac to get it to work. I installed paragon ntfs, and formatted it to ntfs, but still can't get it to read on minix. It works fine on mac. Is there a specific way I need to format it or partition it to make it readable on minix??
