Very slow accessing external HDD

Hi, I'm using U1 with a 2TB Western Digital MyBook attached to it. I started noticing the problem about 2 weeks ago. I use LAN (not wifi) to connect my computer to U1.

Whenever I try to put files from my computer to WD MyBook, it's very slow. The speed is around 300 to 400 KB/s, usually it was much faster, around 10 MB/s. Sometimes it goes up to around 1 to 2 MB/s and then goes back to 300KB/s. If I try to restart the U1, then 2 things will happen:

Gigabit Ethernet preferable to 5GHz wifi?

Am I right in assuming that it is always preferable to use a gigabit ethernet connection in preference to a 5Ghz wifi connection wherever possible? The reason I ask is that I vaguely remember reading about a performance test on a Minix box in which transfer speeds over gigabit ethernet were slower than wifi (but I can't remember where I read it!)

U1 Xbmc / Kodi / SBMC

Hi Guys

Recently my kodi / xbmc / sbmc (tried all 3) has randomly gone to a black screen, but the sound still continues. I can go back to the menu and stop the video, but when I press play again it goes back to the black screen.

I have to close the app and restart it in order to get the video playing again.

I have updated everything.

Any help please :(

Sharing with you how I managed to remotely play my ps4 using U1, now I can play when my wife is watching Brazilian novel on main tv

It is important to say that i don't have any responsibility in what you will do with your unit, i'm just sharing what works for me, but i think if something goes wrong you just reflash original firmware using usb tool and guide that you find here on forum.

Movie just stops playing in Kodi?

Hi,

If I start to play a movie in Kodi, after a couple of seconds or minutes it sometimes just stops without me doing anything. It's like I've pressed the Stop button on the remote, despite that I haven't. So Kodi just returns to the list of movies where I started playing the movie from.

What is this typically an indicator of? Has Kodi crashed? Or has it just encountered an unrecoverable error while playing the movie (e.g. codec bug?), so it has no choice but to stop the playback of the movie?

Clone machine after initial setup

We normally use Clonezilla and Sysprep to image a Windows 7 or 10 machine with all of the updates to Windows and programs so that we don't need to hand load all of our machines before joining it to our domain. Unfortunately, it appears that Clonezilla only gets to about 40% before locking up. We've tried it multiple times and they fail every time.

Does anyone use another imaging software prior to rolling out their Minix Neo machines in bulk?

Hi,

Is there anyone have tried installing fresh new Windows 10 64bit Pro. I will then setting up a sysprep to this and deploy to several MINIX z83-4 as well.

what are the steps to reformat, before I have a MINIX Z64 and can only allow 32bit OS and what is the working software to clone an image.

any recommendation and suggestion would do. thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm a huge fan of the Z83-4 its been amazing in helping me set up digital signage.
I used to set up systems one by one, but now that I need to launch many at once, I want to set up one template system, and clone it to the others since there are a few programs and a lot of little settings that need to be configured just right.
Any tips on the best way to do this?
Because the Windows Product Key is just on the machine and not visible, is sysprep going to be an issue?

Wireless keyboard not responding after sleep mode or restart

Hi guys,

I have a logitech K400r wireless keyboard and often when i reboot or wake up my U9-H from sleep mode, the keyboard isn't responding anymore. I tried to plug in the wireless unifying usb adapter in one of the other usb ports, but none of them make connection or react. Sometimes it can take up to a couple of hours or even days before it works again, after I give it another try. In the mean time I use a cheap wireless mouse, which never gives any trouble.

Boot from UBS for MemTest

Thread title says it all,

I'd like to boot from a USB stick and run memtest-86 but I'm flummoxed about the BIOS options. The BIOS I'm use to playing around in seemed to be so much more intuitive. I see the USB Device Priorities, but how to tell it to boot from that is a mystery. Any suggestions?

Coming from the U1, I'm a little confused. What is the recommended setup for movies?

Is there a custom XBMC or is the regular Kodi fine? I cannot seem to get the HDR10 to work in Kodi. Looks washed out.

Also, I miss the info screen from XBMC, showing codec, framerate, etc. Any such thing possible with regular Kodi?

U9-H stuck on "Android is starting" screen. Won't boot up.

Please help. I restarted my U9-H and now it's stuck on the "Android is starting ... Starting apps" screen. It was stuck for over an hour. Everything was working fine prior to the Restart. So I disconnected the power cord, waited 30 seconds, plugged back in, powered back on - but no change, it gets to that screen and just stops. I don't know what to do.

I have FW006.
I do not have adoptive storage.

Note: The only things I did today was resolve my Netflix issue by installing the Netflix_HD...

Missing drivers after clean Win 10 pro install

After a clean install of windows 10 pro (1709) my wifi, audio and SD card slot are not working. I believe this is due to missing drivers. I've followed the instruction from this thread:

without success.

Without wifi and the SD slot, this computer is worthless for my application. I need to be able to run remote desktop via wifi and store pictures on an SD card.

Any help would be appreciated.
