Finally after a long wait we are proud to release the new release of Kitkat ready for the x7 Series (Version 250)

The firmware is build through the MINIX guidelines and thus provided as Official firmware.

I bought a Minix Neo X7 a while ago, and have not used it for some time.
Pardon me if I am sounding like a real nob here, but I am very little knowledge of how this device works.

As I recall, when I first powered it up, I had a choice of a few different menu systems, and the choice of opening it once or always. The one that opens now is the Minix one with the green and grey tiles. If I recall, there was an android one also, that allowed me to change the android settings and do updates. Is...

Hi all
This week I've been testing out a new X8-H Plus. Terrific little unit - so thanks for all the work that's gone into it.

I have one strange issue that I'm hoping someone can assist with. When playing either live TV or a recording from any of the ABC Australia channels, I get horrible stutter. Its almost like its playing at half frame rate. This does not occur on other channels, although I thought the encoding was the same. Issue is the same whether I'm using Kodi 16.1, SPMC, Minix or...

Hello,
I just received a new Minix X8-H, no video to the HDMI but blue led is ON
If I connect it to the PC it is recognized but with Yellow bang.
Any idea how to resolve?

Minix XBMC Beta 16.3 9.11 - 3D Issue

I just tried the latest version of Minix XBMC 16.3, the 20160911, an it seems that it does not display correctly the 3D movies HTAB nor HSBS.
When I play a .mkv in the above formats it asks me, as usual, what format to select and I pick "Same as movie". This is what I did in the previous versions (v13.3 or v15.3), but in 16.3 the image remains split, although the 3D signal is passed to the TV.

Is this issue known? Are you trying to fix it? This is present since the Alpha build.

Neo U1 Will Not Boot

Hi, I have owned my U1 now for only a few weeks without issue until now.

When booting this morning the U1 is now frozen, just showing the word MINIX (white on black screen)

I would be grateful for some advice on how to rectify this problem.

I have a Minix x6 with the original smaill remote, my friend gave me her Android box and the remote looks far better (the coloured buttons etc)

Minix U1 Constantly Rebooting

Hello dear friends
I have a problem with my Minix U1, I have tried reflashing with the new firmware to solve a problem.... and I can update via PC, but the problem is.... it didn't solved my problem, my MINIX is rebooting all the time don't even start on the menu, as soon as going near to open the menu, restarts again and again and for about 4 days now I can't have my Minix working.

Is it possible to use a HDMI Splitter on the Minix U1 so i can send the Picture to my 4K LG 55" TV and the Audio to my AV Receiver so i can have the TrueHD and DTSMA ?? , or if not can someone tell me an alternative way to get the HD audio, Cheers.

Mediaset Itallian TV?

My brothers in laws are Italian and they watch a channel on Rogers in Canada called Mediaset and so far, I"ve been unable to find any add on's to allow this channel to be watched under Kodi.. anyone have any luck in installing Mediaset Italian content?

Moving from WD meda player.. Which Android box?

Don't care about games, 4K, streaming, apps or color bits.

I play 12+GB Bluray copies stored on Network drives & USB drives connected to Network drives with sound formats like these:

DTS-HD Master Audio / 5.1
TrueHD/AC3 (Atmos) 7.1
AC3 Ex 5.1
DTS-HD Master Audio 2548 kbps 7.1
DTS-MA 5.1

NVidaShield is overkill I think so which of these should I go for if at all: NEO X8-H Plus or Neo U1.

I have an 7.1 AV Amp if that makes a differance.
As far as I can see nothing can yet beat my 10...

streams crash like clockwork

hello please excuse the long post,
i have 2 issues with my box, one after pausing a stream and one with live tv

i bought ->
MINIX Neo U1 Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Smart TV Box Kodi Amlogic S905
Minix A2 Lite Air Mouse

updated firmware

installed minixxbmc and a few common apps (exodus/pheonix/ccloud)

its conected to web thru strong wifi (speed tested)

issue 1 - movies

if i pause a movie for more than a minute or 2, then after 10 minutes it crashes/freezes
if i dont pause it...

streams crash like clockwork

Regarding the android update that is being worked on. I suggest you create a sticky/FAQ for it that only allows admins to update but is also updated as progress is made. Maybe say there will be updates every x months? I think having one place to look for this will cut down in the time wasted on responding and closing threads in the long run. It will also inspire good will with your customers. Maybe have a link to donate to the cause if funding is the real issue.

Dears,
I'm happily using a Neo X8-H plus.
It's reliable and well supported, but I think it's a bit aging.
I mainly use Kodi (h264/h265 mkv), and legal streaming services (Youtube, Netflix, Crunchyroll).

What I'm missing from my Neo X8-h plus is:
  • HD Netflix
  • h264hi10p playback (mainly 720p)
  • hi444PP playback (mainly 720p)
  • h265 10 bit
Other features I have on the Neo X8-H plus and I still need:
  • 24p support (at least from Kodi)
  • backup battery (sometimes I use...

Can the Z83-4 improve my experience?
