Unable to delete or edit on usb or sd

Any videos or music saved to either type of external storage leave me with no ability to edit or delete them. This seems to be an issue with tight restrictions associated with marshmallow. I've granted permission whenever possible but that doesn't help. From research on marshmallow it appears the only fix is to root which to me isn't a preferred option. The actual peformance of the U9-H is very good, better than my U1 and night and day above my X8H plus. But this edit/delete limitation is a...

Hello
Yesterday my Minix Neo U1 froze up and I couldn't do anything other than power it off at the mains .
No buttons worked so I had to . Anyway , now I find on each boot just after it says " loading android apps" it flashes three times and then it loads . But it didn't do this before the freeze .
Factory reset time again ? or something else I can try ?

Hi all

There's a way to use KODI 17 on this machine, but you need to install ubuntu on it.

To install kodi get the ISO with modified kernel from Linuxium - https://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com/2016/10/running-ubuntu-on-intel-bay-trail-and.html

broken my box :-(

hi

so today i decided to factory reset my box from the settings menu.

it came up with the android guy with his chest open and said erasing.....

i left it around half a hour and it was still doing it so i turned the power off and back on and it now wont boot properly.

ive plugged a keyboard in and hitting f11 will bring up a menu but im a little stuck as to what to do next.

ive got a sd card and pc but no usb drive.

please help :-(

No signal on HDMI

Hi,

I've got an issue with my NEO C (HDMI version).

My hw: Macbook 12" early 2015, iiyama PL2377 display.
OS: El Capitain 10.11.6 (I just upgraded, previous versions were the same).

After connecting the monitor, monitor wakes up, however after few seconds it goes to sleep with "No signal".

After unplugging and plugging back the HDMI cable, I can sometimes get it going, however it takes up to 10 or even more tries (HDMI cable unplug - plug) until finally I get it working (it sure is not...

Hello,
I've attached a 500GB EXT HDD to my beautiful U9-H.
I've formatted it using the device but in this way I can't put on it files bigger than 4GB in size.
What is the best filesystem type I can format it so I can manage it without problems from U9-H?
And, there is a way to format it directly from my toy?

If a small company selling cheaper android box can do this for their customers, why MINIX cannot do it?

I suggest MINIX to upgrade their XBMC for minx to ver 17 so that those using X6 and X8H plus can run Kodi 17 without buying new box.

Im a noob and very new to forums. I down loaded files from this forum to change from Z64A to Z64W. I did not have the windows ISO file on the USB but suspected I should have.

My device now only displays a shell screen.
Final line reads blk13 : Removable BlockDevice - Alias (null)
PciRoot(OxO) etc etc
Is this waiting to be pointed to a Windows ISO?

I have followed the instructions to create a recovery USB to reinstall the Android O/S but do not...

USB 3.0 Drive randomly disconnecting/reconnecting

Hi there:

Just bought a Z83-4 and i'm having a problem with a usb 3.0 device.

I'm using a 'Sandisk Ultra FIT USB 3.0 flash drive' formatted as NTFS as a secondary drive for the system and performance is more than okay (as good as can be expected from a 3.0 flash drive) but the drive keeps disconnecting/reconnecting randomly. Suddenly the drive disappears and instantly windows re-detects it and reappears. Obviously this makes it unusable if i'm writing/reading something to the drive at that...

X8-H+ with USB DAC questions

Hi guys
I have an X8-H+ with the latest firmware and XBMC 13.3. The device is connected with HDMI to a Sony AV receiver. The whole system works without problems in both video and audio playback.
Now I wish to have my minix connected to an analog audiophile amplifier as well exclusively for music playback, by means of a usb dac that I plan to buy. I wish to maintain my existing setup (hdmi out ---> sony AV amp). Before I invest to a usb dac, I would like to be sure that it is going to work with...

date/time/weather box

I notice on the main screen that the date and time and weather show here but that the weather isnt accurate. I am hard wired, tried JUST wifi and its the same on both. anyone have any ideas? I am comparing the temperature to the weather network that i have on my computer

Hi All, I'm trying to upgrade from windows 10 home to win10 pro. I purchased a license key for pro and it's not working via the "change your license key" option in the system settings. I tried using the microsoft upgrade tool and it said that the pc is compatible with the upgrade (very strange). I went so far as to try a clean install (via USB creation tool) but never got the option to enter the license key during setup. I formatted and deleted the primary partition (28 GB) and reinstalled it...

Freeze, crashing, SD Card issues... Need help!

Minix NEO U9 - H
Brand new... Firmware already updated.
Runs very hot.
Always crash or freeze after few minuts. Even without any activity - just showing the main screen.
SD Card doesn't works. Tried formating FAT32 at PC. Tried two different cards. Not detected by system.
Unable to see videos because it freezes and becomes very very hot.
Unit not working properly after many attempts.

Need help about this issues.
Any help...

Disappointment with U9-H

I have a 6 years WDTV media player.

It is outdated because it does not support x265 codec, DTS, Dolby etc. etc.

I decided to buy one of the best android player.

At least bunch reviews say so.

But I have to admit I'm very, very disappointed with U9-H.


Image quality is considerably, I repeat, considerably worse than on WD.

I'm talking about 720p and 1080p.

How it is possible that the hardware beast, compared to the old WD, has a worse picture?

Another crappy thing is the audio signal...

Hi all, just looking to get some info about the current minix boxes.

I've got an X8-H Plus now for the last few years, and was looking to see about upgrading.

Is there an upgraded model to this, something with a better processor, more memory...

I thought they would have released an X9 or something by now with upgraðed internals in it. Is there anything better than the X8-H Plus or is it worth hanging onto for another while?

Kodi 17 Krypton Resolution

Hi Minix Team,

Just installed Kodi 17 Krypton on Neo U1 with Philips 50" 4K TV. Noticed that Krypton 17 by default give me only max display resolution at 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz only. Under System Settings ---> Resolution & Refresh Rate capped at 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz, unable to change the setting. Previosly on Kodi 16.1 Jarvis default give me 4K resolution at 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz. Is it Neo U1 limitation or latest Kodi 17 issue? Thank You in advance for the support. Cheers!
