I'm a long time Minix user. I've had the X8-H, the U1, and now just upgraded to the U9-H. Unfortunately, it seems I may have to send this one back as I cannot find a fix on this issue. Maybe its just a defective unit. The problem is that my display AND sound flicker very briefly but also very often. It seems to start off less often but frequency increases as the box stays on. This will happen without anything running and straight from the Minix launcher screen so its not a video format...

Minix Neo U9 or U1?

Hi, I'm planning to buy a minix device.
Minix neo U1 with A2 remote or
Minix neo U9 with A3 remote.
My main purpose is to watch movies with 5.1 sound in my Home Theater.
Cost of U9 is slightly higher than U1.
So, I request somebody please tell me what are the advantage of U9 over U1.

Hello,

I have reset many times by pressing power button 6s + wipe cache + wipe datas + reboot system
or by reset option in paramters / storage / reset factory ...

but my version is still MHC19J.20170623...and in google play store my device is uncertified

Netflix does not update...

what's wrong ? somebody help me please ?

Memory freer and YouTube related..

Hey,
I've recently purchased the U9 and it's been going well :) That said, I was wondering if someone could help me with some things.. Do you know know where the "Memory Freer" is located in the Launcher3 UI?
Also, I had deleted the stock app for YouTube since I thought the new one was better but it turns out I can't do anything because it's not remote friendly.. Do you'll know where could I redownload the stock app that came where the U9??

Hi guys, with my Minix I got an app called ES File Explorer, or a similar name. Despite the fact it works well it's a pain on UI level. Is there anything simpler and less confusing? There are a lot of buttons here and there I've never touched (and will never do), so all the left column space is totally wasted.

Has anybody managed to successfully set DNS and VPN configurations in U9-H?

I mean:

DNS configuration
Settings --> Wireless and Networks --> Wi-Fi settings --> Modify Network --> Advanced Settings --> Static IP --> DNS 1 --> DNS 2

VPN configuration
Settings --> Wireless and Networks --> VPN Settings --> Add VPN

NEO A3 not working at all

Just set everything up, my new new NEO U9-H but unfortunately, the NEO A3 is not working at all.

Yes, I checked batteries and bought brand new ones - nothing happenes - followed the re-pairing instructions and not one LED lights up let alone the remote working.

What is workig however, is the minix ir-remote, which is painful though, and I obviously want to use the proper remote.

Even got a random wireless mouse to work - but the NEO A3 is not working. Watched a dozen youtube clips and...

TMDB film library issue

Hi All,

I'm using XBMC 16.3 which runs smoothly for me. No need to change. However, I've realized that i'm unable to update my film library any longer.

Is there something that has changed in the TMDB ? Should I update to Kodi 17.3 ? or is there an alternative scraper that I could use? I'm happy with XBMC and if possible i'll rather stick with this player, but not being able to update the library is a deal breaker.

Hi copy and paste are not working on my new Neo U9H. I use this feature a lot on my two U1s, copying portions of web pages to note pad, word processing apps, forum posts and email messages. I usually use Chrome but have tried two different browsers in an attempt to get this working but have had no luck.

In Chrome a long left click of my Logitech model M325 mouse should give me the options to use copy and paste but nothing happens when I do this in the body of a web page. If I do a long...

I am new with A3 and U9-H, but coming from X8-H and A2, so I can compare and know how they work.
The thing is that I can scroll up and down with the arrow in menus such as google play store (list of applications) or app drawer. I can do it.

But inside a browser (I tried several) I cannot do it. I have to use the up and down button arround the centered android button to scroll, and it is quite annoying.

If I type a search in google search widget (not with a browser), I can see the results but...

Like the tile says... I am considering a U9-H to help eliminate several boxes around my home.

Default Windows audio level 37%, how to change it?

Hello everyone,

My Minix Z83-4 is working flawless, except the audio level in the Windows mixer, which always starts with 37% when I turn on the device. Of course, I can raise the volume up from the system tray sound icon, by moving the slider, but the next time I will restart the device, it will show back 37%.

It is annoying always to change the sound level, because my bluetooth mouse is not the best and is hard to grab the little slider to raise the volume. Also, for the next two weeks my...

USB 3.0 Drive randomly disconnecting/reconnecting

Hi there:

Just bought a Z83-4 and i'm having a problem with a usb 3.0 device.

I'm using a 'Sandisk Ultra FIT USB 3.0 flash drive' formatted as NTFS as a secondary drive for the system and performance is more than okay (as good as can be expected from a 3.0 flash drive) but the drive keeps disconnecting/reconnecting randomly. Suddenly the drive disappears and instantly windows re-detects it and reappears. Obviously this makes it unusable if i'm writing/reading something to the drive at that...

After FW005 Audio dropout on all my movies with Dolby Digital

Hi,

I am connecting my Minix U9-H to Onkyo AMP, and after I update to the latest firmware 005 and reinstall Kodi 17.3 I start noticing audio dropout on all my movies with Dolby Digital and the HD Audio also !!!

I didn't face this problem in the previous firmware, Its just start now, so any suggestion or advice PLZ?

smaller disply at the top left after recent fw005 software update

I am getting smaller display at the top left corner after recent software update.
I have replaced with two new good quality HDMI cables with no joy,I have minix X8 H plus which has been tested with the same HDMI cable and it was ok but my new minix U9H display on LG TV showing a smaller display at the left top corner after recent software update which automatically downloaded. I did not have any SD card or hard drive attached during update.
The only fix is to reboot the box and leave my TV on...

empty directories with FW5

posted this in the bugtracker, but got not results.

anyway on the FW 5 some of my usb hdd directories are empty. the title is there; but no entries.

connected to a pc, the files are present in the directory. FW 4 shows the directory correctly as well.

its a 4 tb hdd formatted to exfat worked perfectly before fw upgrade

i had to usb burn fw 4 into the box because you cant downgrade the fw via the .zip method

am i the only one who has this problem?

minix team dont support but I give path to openelec for minix amalogic.
only need your wifi chip and kernel config for minix. may be modifiy for s812 and s802 for minix.
all based same. s806 android device use s812 chip
first find to your android kernel config. that identifiy used all chip for minix x8-h-plus
su
cat /proc/config.gz > /sdcard/config.gz
chmod 777 /sdcard/config.gz
unpack config.gz
later merge your config to armlinux config. add your driver for kernel source. wifi binary fw...
