Below are the files and steps necessary to gain root access to your U9-H.

If any of this does not make sense to you then you should maybe consider your choice to root.
If you do not know why you want to root your U9-H you should not do this.

Warranty is void if product has been modified, altered, rooted or repaired without prior authorization by MINIX.

NEO U1 support for HDMI CEC remote control up-down-left-right-enter-options-red-green control?

Hi,

I hate many remote controls so I want to use my Sony Bravia's remote control to control NEO U1 like I control my PS3.

Does NEO U1 support HDMI CEC user interface control ?
That is: up-down-left-right-enter and options/info etc.

I browsed the net and "NEO U1 HDMI CEC support" seems to be only wakeup-from-sleep?

As i read for another Minix products, also in U9-H it happens.
My TV is a Philips 32pfl7403d.
I tried different resolutions and activate/disactivate RGB option.
Is possible to fix the firmware definitevely?

Help with KODi/Exodus

Hi, I am not an avid user so I am sorry if I sound a little stupid!
I have a Minix Neo X8 H Plus and have been using it for a while now to watch movies etc on KODi using Exodus. Lately I have found lots of the movies or shows either won't open at all or if they do they continually buffer. I have also been unable to use the search mode in Exodus. Is there anyone that can possibly help me please?

Backup of factory provided Z83-4

Before I start using my Z83-4 I want to do a complete backup of what is on it as received from Minix. Should I do the Windows registration first or do the backup before the registration. What method is best for both before or after methods and does anyone have a complete walkthru help on how to do it? I am new (technically disadvantaged to all this and really could use some advice. Thanks in advance!

Z83-4 Pro: Failed to Reset PC

I've been trying to restore NEO Z83-4 Pro to factory settings, but going through the procedure to "Reset PC" in Windows 10 Pro, and the process starts fine, but I always end up with the error:

"There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made"

I've tried different methods to solve this on the Internet, but none worked.
Any idea, what may have gone wrong?

bandwidth limit on ethernet connection

Hi guys,
I recently received a Minix neo U1 from a friend, so I connected it to the internet using ethernet cable right from the modem
today, while running speed test I saw that I got no more then 20mbps, it seemed really weird so I tested this also from my laptop using WIFI and I got about 70mbps which is normal for me
I have a 100mbps connection from my ISP
So my question is, is there any bandwidth limit setting hiding somewhere in the minix settings? cause this is really weird..

I am new to android box I recently bought my minix u-9 and it was working then I notice within a few days the apps which I purchase the box for stop working. Netflix and fios mobile app stop working can anyone tell if there is a possible work around to get these app working again.

Users with FW005 may update to FW006 simply by our MINIX OTA app.
(OTA update window will be opened in the coming week)

NOTE: Adoptive storage (e.g. TF card) is not supported by our OTA, please remove any of such storages before proceeding.

I have a U1 and it worked great thru Jarvis.

I am using the alpha versions of XBMX 17 and Kodi 18 now. Both live TV and on demand take a long time to open. I have adjusted the video settings as best I can but till not good. It also locks up before starting to play.

Will the U9H solve these problems?

Also will the the A2 light remote work with this or will I need to buy a new remote?

Soooo....
I am new to the game, but pretty tech savvy. I bought the U9-H and its been fun. Even figured out how to load builds on to Kodi!

Here is my pain. I run a speed test and the box will not go higher than 9.4Mbps both up and down speeds. I am running ethernet cable to it. This is the same cable that brings 275Mbps consistently to my PC sitting not 3 feet from my Minix box. I even tried to use Wifi and get the same 9.4Mbps speed.

Superb download speed but very bad upload speed

hi. im proud owner of U9H for 6 months now but after this latest firmware, im unable to play any movies smoothly.. even from local NAS. the device is connected to router directly via ethernet cable.

i guess the device has connection problem so i test my local speed. i attached herewith the test result. d/l :600Mbit/s but u/l:3Mbit/s.

i connect my laptop using the same cable to the router and the ul and dl result dont show that i have problem with the cable or router.

please advice. thank you

Hey guys, having a weird bug ever since I bought the U9-H months ago.

HD-Audio passthrough only randomly works, honestly there's no rhyme or reason to it at all.

First off, I have the files directly on the minix box so there is no streaming involved. They're test samples straight from dolby and dts websites. When I play one it may or may not work, but when it does it's perfect, there are never any dropouts at all. When it doesn't its just a loud fizz from the speakers and my AVR shows stereo....

Yet another passthrough issue - promise it's a gooder!

I do not know how many iterations of the standard Metro launcher MINIX have had but maybe it time for a change to freshen up the GUI desktop.

Android TV for example has dynamic backgrounds depending on the Recommendations selected.
Some GUI launchers have Bing pictures of the day in the background to keep life interesting - or user selectable custom pictures.

A pretty easy change for MINIX to do would be something like this, with a nice Glass Panel mod to their existing Metro launcher.

Missing storage on a new U9???

Just got another U9, was setting it up and noticed that the storage listed is only 11 gigs, with 10.03 gigs listed as free space??? Nothing has been installed on the box yet. I have only performed an update.
Is this normal?? Why advertise that the box has 16 gigs when clearly is does not??
