Minix X8H Plus Bricked

Hi All
My X8H Plus of two years suddenly packed up. While watching Youtube recently, it said shutting down and closed. After that, numerous attempts to boot failed and the machine was stuck on the MINIX logo. I tried reflashing the latest software using the USB stick method by entering recovery mode. But, this failed with the message corrupt cache or some thing similar. Next, I tried a clean install after a factory reset using the USB burning tool method. Multiple laptops, USB cables, USB...

No Sound

Hey I just got a x8-h plus and have plugged it into the hdmi port in my TV (loewe xelos a32). The picture is fine but I am getting no sound. Have updated software as much as possible. Current build number is KOT49H.20160829.

Plugged a DVD into the hdmi port on the TV and it worked fine.

Have been adjusting settings for hours trying to get it to work but no luck.

Hope someone has some ideas on the problem

Trying to flash using usb burning tool - errors at roughly 5%
SD card / .zip file method will not work
Burn Card Maker method stops and will not continue.
Opened TRWP on SD card - shows 0MB for /data, /system, etc. Changing file system to any type fails.
Seems like a partition issue. Does anyone have any tips or is it bricked?

Hi guys, this is my first time starting a new thread so forgive me if I done it wrong. Im trying to fix my friends Minix X8-H which has being working perfect up until yesterday. It switches on but nothing comes on screen. The firmware on it, I’m almost sure is the most recent available and the blue light powers on when pushed but I get no visual no matter what. I tried to hook it up to the computer and using the latest Burning tool v2.0.6.2 I tried to flash the 009 firmware I get Connect...

Hi all,

I was stuck on android logo (suddenly, no special operation or app install).
After read some thread I decided to use the burning tools to flash a fresh fw (009).

The box is recognize (when doing recover button+ power on) but the flash always fails at 22% with the following error:
[HUB1-4][Err]--[0x30403003]UBOOT/Partition system/Download buffer/Data tranfer error

Just an interesting story to share.

Do not attempt the same procedures if you're not an expert.

One of my many many boards refused to go flashing after I left it aside for months.

Then one idea came to my mind: Um... the eMMC is probably corrupted/locked up for some reasons.

So I opened the case and took the board out,

then I power it up and short PIN TP13 & TP15 together with a metallic paper clip (a conductor).
(During the design stage we have reserved these pins on...

Create physical comport

For an specific application we have tried to use an USB->RS232 converter to hookup some specific research hardware. This USB->RS232 converter generates errors.
After some research we conclueded this error is genereated by the converter.
Once we use a onboard COMPORT it works fine.

SO:
Dispite there is a COMPORT in the Windows hardware manager. the system has no physicial COM R232 connection available.
If available; which pins can I use to create a physical comport from?

So guys, I just got my U9-H set up today, and I'm starting to suspect the item I bought ain't new.

F/W is 002, and loading the update app shows it paused at 9% complete, and asks if I want to resume updating?

Box is loaded with all sorts of nonsense apps, that I suspect Minix never put there? (can someone give me a list of stock apps on a fresh install of system please?)

Kodi does not load, it just crashes with 'unfortunately stopped error', besides that, it is also loaded with utter bloat,...

NEO A3 Air Mouse issues

I have had my U9-h for about a 2 weeks now. I like everything about it but this NEO A3 airmouse is a hassle.

Whenever I use any function of the air mouse or keyboard, the 3rd (right most of the 3) LED lights on the top, flashes and will not stop flashing. This is the LED with the small musical note icon right below it.

Because that LED flashes non stop, even when the Minix is powered down, it drains the batteries and the keyboard/mouse is dead the next day when I go to use it.

persistent paths for external storage on a usb hub

Hi all,

I just upgraded my minix neox8hplus to the new lolipop system and lost some functionality that existed on the old OS.

I have 4 hard drives attached to a USB hub that connects to the minix box. I also have mizuu tv/movie app that accesses the external storage through the USB hub. On the old OS the drive assignment was persistent in that the drives were consistently assigned a path in android.

The new system changes the drive...

So, MINIX X8 Plus youtube app 1080-60 fps freeze - latest firmware (009), latest youtube app, restarted, cache cleaned. Some time works OK, after that video freezes, sound goes on. On every video with 1080-60 quality. Sure I can decrease quality, but I don't want to. What to do???

Goodevening, i have a minix neo u1.

I saw today from play store that have lot of app like facebook, chrome, etc. that need to update. I check on play store settings and autoupdate is setted on.

why it not autoupdate?

I use an ethernet connection and wifi off. Maybe should be it the problem? Because for example if i use eurosport app onlyy with ethernet it not work saying that i am not connected

Hi,
until last Saturday I was able to connect the minix with my old LG plasma (42PC1RR ),
now when I turn on the minix I do not even see the boot logo and the label "no signal" appears on the TV. Does the BIOS update has caused this problem? I changed the cable but nothing change. If I plug the minix to the another montior or to a HAIER tv (using the same cable) all works like a charm.

Resume From Sleep Problems...

I am having a problem with my relatively new U9-H. When the unit has been in 'Sleep' mode for more than a few minutes (really can't give an exact number of minutes), it will not come back to life. The Blue LED lights up but then nothing happens. Seems like it is hung. The only solution is to pull the power and then restart it. I has been exhibiting this behavior since new.

I have searched the forum and found one or two references to something that sounds similar, but I have not found a...
