Snappy Driver Installer or not ?

Hi,

Must i download & install Minix LAST update drivers or can i use Snappy Driver Installer ?
I mean Windows drivers (Sound card driver , video card driver and so on) and not Minix firmware

How to flash firmware image (X6, X8 series)

Dear all X6, X8/X8-Plus/X8-H/X8-H-Plus users,

To flash the image firmware, you need to:

1.) Download the .img firmware package;
2.) Extract it;
3.) Install the Windows USB flash tool, downloading from:
http://www.minixforum.com/downloads/download.php?file=USB_Burning_Tool_v2.0.6.2.rar
Choose "Install anyway" when system prompts for driver installation, then open the application, and choose English (picture 1 & 2);

Installing External HDD onto U9

Hello everyone. Still very new to Android Boxes, so be gentle with me. Want to connect an external 2TB HDD to my U9, to record TV / Movies from addons within Kodi. Have had a look through guides and past posts, but cannot really find instructions on how to do this. Can someone please give me some ideas about what format of HDD I can use, what I need to do when I plug the drive into the U9 ?

BUG: FW007A/8 no DTS-HD / TRUE-HD options over HDMI using Soundbar

This used to be there on previous FW006. I've attached my logs.

Issue over HDMI and using Samsung K950 Atmos soundbar connected in ARC.

Settings are all untouched.

Things Ive tried:

complete firmware reset(against my will)
reinstall kodi 17.6 completely
clear cache on kodi
kodi 17.3 shows the settings as needed but actual passthrough fails
unplugged everything for 24hours
multiple skins



PS: rename the log to...

Screen resolution freq

I hope someone can help me: why in display screen resolution options I have only 60hz screen resolution (1080, 720 and 480) but nothing with 50hz or others? I have also the old minix neo x7 and can select all possible resolution (50, 60, 23.97, etc.). Thanks

Just a disappointing

People can slate me if they want but the whole u-9 is just one big disappointment from the get go just full of bugs and things not working again another 20 updates just to make the simple things work.
I’m sorry minix but you’re products are no longer superior in the market and this will be my last purchase from you.

I did this ROM basically for me as I still use this U1 box as it's still a nice box even over a year later.
In the process I decided it's worth releasing to the public....

No Sound on Real Debrid Links

Hi
Not sure if problem with Box or set up

I use Terrarium and have TV hooked up to a Yamaha rx- V359 (cannot add link but its the first google image) I have a real debrid account and when I find a 1080p or 720p link and play it there is no sound. Is this due to the fact that the U1 can’t handle the sound for these types of files ? No HDMI output on the receiver so done via optical output. If I choose a HD link then sound seems to be ok.
Any suggestions what might be the cause of the no sound...

Always try the X8H-Series build first and always try to boot it first from usb/sd card, if your X8-HP gives you trouble with wifi or lan, try the X8HP-Gen1 build.

Use the tar file only if you are certain of the version working on your device.
Install-to-internal only if you're certain of the version working on your device.

If you need to activate the "multiboot", make a "boot" folder on the root of the SD card and copy...

OTA Not Working

Every time I try to use the OTA app, the system gets stuck. It unzips the file, then says reboot, and stays there. I don't have the option to do a USB update because I don't own a Windows PC.

Suffice to say, I am stuck.

Any direction would be appreciated.

Printing

Going for laptop replacement with this box. So far so good.....until I installed the Brother Print Service Plugin.
When I turn it on from android settings it starts searching for the printer (which is network connected). Here it stays continuously searching for the printer.

I have several phones and tablets using this plugin with no problems.

Any help is appreciated

hi, I'm trey from the uk and I'm totally blind. I'm going to buy a z83-4 to use for media streaming. firstly what size memory cards does the z83-4 take? and are they micro sd or regular sd? also does it have an HDMI output port for connecting to a monitor?
is there any thing els I should know before I make the purchase?
