How to flash firmware image (X6, X8 series)

Dear all X6, X8/X8-Plus/X8-H/X8-H-Plus users,

To flash the image firmware, you need to:

1.) Download the .img firmware package;
2.) Extract it;
3.) Install the Windows USB flash tool, downloading from:
http://minix.com.hk/downfile/USB_Burning_Tool_v2.0.4.3_user.rar
Choose "Install anyway" when system prompts for driver installation, then open the application, and choose English (picture 1 & 2);

Good day all. I recently purchased my first media player the Minix U1. At first I wasn't very impressed but I got it working fine now except I can't get our local Satellite provider's Apps through which you can view their live Tv and Sport to work on the U1. The Apps work fine on my Galaxy S6 which also runs Android Lollipop 5.1. It also doesn't allow the Miracast to send the images to my U1 but all other Apps does allow. Hi everybody.

I hope someone can help me.

Just to point that I am average user with average technical knowledge and not a guru, so hopefully I can get some straight forward answer.

Recently I bought minix Neo U9-H. I connected to my modem with LAN cable. My PC is also connected to modem with LAN cable. I also connected minix on WiFi network. I have external USB storage that I connected to my minix. Minix recognized it as a SD card and I can access it from minix.

I use a NEO Z83-4 with latest bios 1.6.
When I started the windows 10 assistant to update to the windows creator update,
after a while I received an error code:
0xc1900200


I've been googling it and found a resolution to it.
The first reserved system partition is actually too small and prevents the win update.

The idea is to enlarge it to around 500 MB instead of 100 MB.

After FW005 tiny frame freezing in every movie

This U9 box I recently bought, which is no doubt far more advanced than my previous player Mede8er 600X3D, still doesn't make me satisfied when watching movies.
Mede8er is basicaly plug'n'play device that played every movie flawlessly from the first second till the last (720p or 1080p rips), with no stuttering or frame freezing or skipping. It was just perfect.
On fw004 on U9, there were couple of tiny issues when doing some 'rewinding' or skipping the scenes, couple of Kodi app crashes,...

Hi All
I hope I can get some help on a (potentially) wonderful product. I bought the Minix X8H Plus recently after a lot of research hoping for an out of the box Kodi experience, but unfortunately, I am having a hard time configuring my new box.
My problem:
1. Most Kodi addon installations fail with the message "failed to install dependency". This is the case with Universal Media scraper.
2. The Opensubtitles addon installation fails with the message "installation failed".

Minix U1, can this connect to bluetooth speakers and headphones, also would these apk´s be compatible, stellarium mobile, dentex youtube downloader, Noroot firewall.

There are a few other apk´s I would be interested in, but the one´s above are essential, need to download my relaxation video´s and play them via bluetooth speakers etc. Stellarium would be great if it worked, I have all apk´s backed up on dropbox, many thanks.

if I have FW009 currently can I jump straight to FW013, and thereby apply all bug fixes in the firmwares between, or do I have to install them one by one?

My device is rooted, so i don't receive OTA.

Hi,

I have the Neo-X8H-Plus and am stuck on Android4.4.2 with Kernel Version 3.10.33 and build number KOT49H.20161222.

Whenever I check on the OTA it always states that I am up to date

Is there going to an update to Android 5? I have seen on the forum that there is an update but I cannot seem to get it OTA.

I cannot update to Kodi Krypton as it needs Android 5.

Please can some one advise.

I have a QNAP TS-651 with the DNLA library and Plex installed and a Cat 5e wired network which feeds into my X8-H Plus and then into a Samsung TV via an Onkyo AV amp (HDMI). This setup has performed well for a year or more and played 1080 video files without any problems except the occasional stutter during the first 10-15 seconds or so. I don't have the QNAP do any transcoding as everything played perfectly up to now.

Hi,

I have just bought a Dell XPS 15 notebook. The disadvantage of this device is that it has no ethernet adapter. That's why I'm very interested in this product.

Do you know if my notebook, running on Windows 10, supports your product completely? Are there drivers available on Windows 10 for the ethernet adapter?

I have a new Z83-4 and have installed the 1.66 BIOS. I use it in a kitchen as a TV access point for DirecTV (general use) and for Xfinity (live network channels from Denver.) The video is accessed via web browser, Chrome or Firefox.

I have trimmed down the start menu to minimize load on the processor, and only open one browser to login to the video sources. Chrome and Firefox show the same problem.

Hello,

it has happened couple of times,

from Minix off:
I tried to turn it on and instead a green light show up and no boot at all, had to remove the power cable and try again.

from Minix on:
I turned off from windows and the light instead of going off it went from blue to green.

no documentation found, any help please?
