Pros and Cons of Android TV vs Android
Hello,
I've heard people praise MINIX for having the best Android support. What are the pros and cons of Android vs Android TV?
I'd like a better understanding of why this is a good thing or a bad thing. When is one better than the other?
One thing I heard is that Minix gives full access to Google Play Store. That is all I know.

PS Vue Help
Hello All,
just got my minix box today and loaded up DTV Now and PS VUE-I'd like to go with DTV NOW, as its cheaper for more channels, but doesn't work on this or my Shield. Posted my DTV NOW issues in another thread heere.
But to the PS Vue problem. I get the load screen where it says to activate prior to signing in...not sure what to do next?

DirecTV Now app not working after FW004A update
DirecTV Now app worked fine for the first few days I had the U9-H box (running default firmware). I updated the firmware using the OTA updater to version FW004A recently and DirecTV Now app does not work after the update. It is frustrating to know something that worked fine doesn't work anymore. I get an error that says 'find out if your devices are compatible, search 'Devices' i the Help Center. (Ref.#1005)'. Has anyone experienced the same or know a solution?

Best minix for streaming?
Hi guys
New to the minix world...
So I'm thinking of buying either the minix z83-4 or the minix u9-h
I'm only going to be using the device for streaming live football and. Watching Tv shows in general...
So which is the best device to stream content WITHOUT any buffering.
I know the z83-4 has a 4gb ram, so would this mean it is superior?
Furthermore, I know that ones a PC And the other is an actual streaming device, but the price isn't much difference so I'd rather get the best one...

OTA Update stalling
Hi there i have tried doing the OTA update to FW13 10 times now and it stalls at 25.99mb. I have tried WIFI and ethernet. Is this a server issue or am i missing something?

MINIX Neo X8-H Plus bad wifi?
I bought the MINIX Neo X8-H Plus in 2015 and it is my 3rd MINIX product (1st NEO G4, 2nd X7mini).
I bought it mainly for the 4k output.
My X7mini continues to work great, although now that I have the X8-H+ I realize that for some reason when I connect the A2 remote OR my logitech K400 keyboard, I get a less jittery/longer range from X8-H+. I'm not sure what the deal is with this.
The main reason for this post is my constant frustration with the X8-H+ wifi. Every time I try to stream a...

NGC-1 V1.3 BIOS update
Dear all MINIX NGC-1 users,
We have released a BIOS update for NGC-1, BIOS version 1.3.
This update shall include the followings:
1.) Rolled back to an older VBIOS to fix a bug (2 monitors are being shown when only 1 is connected);
2.) Disabled the ESRT function to avoid wrong BIOS update is being flashed by Windows update service;

Bluetooth speakers, Compatible APK´s
Minix U1, can this connect to bluetooth speakers and headphones, also would these apk´s be compatible, stellarium mobile, dentex youtube downloader, Noroot firewall.
There are a few other apk´s I would be interested in, but the one´s above are essential, need to download my relaxation video´s and play them via bluetooth speakers etc. Stellarium would be great if it worked, I have all apk´s backed up on dropbox, many thanks.

Dstv Now & SuperSport Apps not working on U1
Good day all. I recently purchased my first media player the Minix U1. At first I wasn't very impressed but I got it working fine now except I can't get our local Satellite provider's Apps through which you can view their live Tv and Sport to work on the U1. The Apps work fine on my Galaxy S6 which also runs Android Lollipop 5.1. It also doesn't allow the Miracast to send the images to my U1 but all other Apps does allow. Youtube TV app - "Link TV and Phone" is missing
Hello,
After the issue that came up with the 80% of the smart tvs that are no longer supported by youtube I chose to buy a U9-H... because i had a Neo X5 that did say much.
but there is no function that I can send/cast from my phone to the minix.
I see in many post the you open the Youtube TV app, then settings and "Link TV and Phone".
But this is missing...
Does anyone can help on that?
it was much easier to cast to tv and don't wait from a 2-3 years old kid to make more advance control....

Download SuperSU here
Download TWRP here
- Rename TWRP3_X8H_Plus.img to recovery.img.
- Put recovery.img & SuperSU-v2.82 onto an SD Card formatted to FAT32
- Put the SD Card into your Minix and boot to TWRP recovery (same process as stock recovery).
