I installed Ubuntu 16 on a Z83-4 and (most) things worked straight away. The one major problem is every time I try to reboot, Ubuntu goes through the shutdown process but the device never restarts. I don't see any obvious errors, it just stops at the shutdown log screen. I've tried changing the grub cmdline reboot option and it hasn't made any difference. Anyone had this problem and fixed it?

Micro SD card specs
Just got my Minix U9. Was wondering if there are any specs in relation to R/W speed of the SD card and the max SD card size. I know 128GB will do but does Minix U9 also supports higher storage capacities? Thanks in advance

Anyone test the card reader on the new U9-H? Why does minix not publish specify technical details? What is the max read/write speed of that reader. I got my eye on the Samsung pro+ 64gb , but wonder if it's overkill.

U9-H Safe mode
Hi, i by mistake disabled the google app to try and get rid of the search bar across the home screen.
But now startup freezes while apps are starting up.
I would like to start up in safe mode to re-enable, but there is no safe mode option in the boot menu.
Anyone know how?

Set Time
Having trouble setting the time and date on Kodi,since I got my minix box U9H.My timezone is not there,Settings,interface,regional.
Google search has said that if it is not there,it is getting its time from my Android box???
Says exit Kodi,go to the Android box,settings ,preferences,date and time.
Verify and change your time,which I did,cannot see a timezone that represents British Columbia.
Anyone know how to do this? Thanks dark....

Neo U1 Settings Menu not responding
Hi,
I cannot seem to get into my setting menu anymore. Whenever I click on settings the screen just blinks for a split second and nothing happens. The unit also tends to slow down at times for no apparent reason. I restarted the unit a few times to check if that makes a difference. Still no change. The last thing I did was update Kodi to 17.4. Could this have caused the issue? Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem? Also, is there a way to hard reset the unit? I don't want to do this......

Optimum Advancedsettings.xml Cache settings
All I've really done since receiving my U9-H, installing Kodi 17.1 and my favourite repos and add-ons is to upgrade the U9-H to FW004A.
Based on another thread on this forum and reading some "other advice" I loaded an advancedsettings.html file to Kodi but I'm not certain if the settings are optimum or even correct.
The settings file I initially loaded were:

<buffermode> 1 </buffermode>
<readbufferfactor> 8.0 </readbufferfactor>
<cachemembuffersize> 104857600...

intermittent stopping
While watching a movie in kodi, i am finding my u9-h stops and goes back to the menu. I am using an a3 mouse, and find each night kodi stops and i am forced to select the movie again to resume. Can anyone explain what is causing these intermittent stoppages? Is it an incorrect setting in the a3 mouse?

Just wondering if their are plans for a U9-h plus like what happened with the x8-h/x8-h plus. Dont want to go and upgrade to the u9-h if in a month or two you come out with a plus version.

VPN Kill Switch
Hi
I know this would be really hard to do , but currently if my VPN decides to disconnect I get no warning and whatever I am streaming just keeps on playing !! Could Minix somehow implement a kill switch or a visual warning if a VPN disconnects in XBMC . Would be one less thing to worry about . Thanks

Newbie... Creating advancedsettings.xml through PC
Hi All, Minix is almost useless at the moment as movies either buffer within 2 seconds, or starting buffering after 5 minutes of playing. I'm on a fast wired net (35Mbps+). I tried to find the guide that covers what to do from start to finish, but can't find anything. I'm a newbie with android, but quick learner.
- I have Minix Neo U1 ... with android 5.1.1 (kodi 16 I think).

Xbox 360 wireless adapter and control
I've been having an ongoing issue with my U9-H shutting down on me whenever I try to connect my 360 controller. I can plug in the adapter no problem to any of my usb ports. However when I power on the controller, my box shuts down everytime. I've tested this after every firmware update and I still have the issue.

What does the HDMI cable it comes with look like?
Of course when i got the Minix i didn't have a 4K TV.
My Sony 65A1E arrives Sunday and i need 18 Gbs HMDI cables. I assume the one that was shipped with the Minix is 18Gbs (didn't the HDMI it came with).
I have a pile of HDMI cables in a bucket.
Is is it a little thicker than most cables and only say "High Speed Cable" on it? Is that the one?
I have another one a lot smaller that says "AWM Style Hotron High Speed".
I know this question may be crazy, but it will save me $10![:)]( "Smile :)")

I just learned of Youtube TV and thought I'd check it out on my new U9. Downloaded just fine. Started it up and it states:
"Help us find you. To continue, make your device discoverable by turning on Location."
I click "Next"
A popup appears, "To continue, let your device turn on location, which uses Google's location service."
I click "Ok"
Goes back to the start and this loops continues indefinitely.
I go into settings and Location is on, set to WIFI only (o GPS) and everything looks...
